For Telegram bots

Your Telegram bot. Online all the time.

A small Linux server is enough for most bots. Long polling works out of the box, webhooks too with your own domain.

How big should it be?

Enough for most

Nano

One simple bot

$3.90 /mo

1 vCPU · 1 GB memory

Deploy Nano

Spark

Several bots, or one with a database

$6.50 /mo

1 vCPU · 2 GB memory

Deploy Spark

Surge

Many bots or heavy libraries

$13 /mo

2 vCPU · 6 GB memory

Deploy Surge

One bot or twenty. Python, Node or Go. Back up by itself if it crashes.

Starts with the server.

A systemd service keeps the bot running: it starts on boot and restarts after a crash. Works the same for aiogram, python-telegram-bot, grammY or telegraf.

telegram-bot.service
[Service]
WorkingDirectory=/root/bot
ExecStart=/root/bot/.venv/bin/python bot.py
Restart=always
RestartSec=3

Questions? Answers.

Not with long polling: the bot asks Telegram for updates itself and needs no public address. Webhooks need an HTTPS address, so you’d point a domain at the server and add a certificate.
